Meaning: Trying to appropriate the aura of righteousness by throwing facts and figures during an argument.
Pronunciation: Kwanty-fi-cate-ting.
Usage: In TV debates, the person who's quantificating the most is invariably seen as making sense.
Root: Quantify (to enumerate) + Pontificating (expressing opinion in a dogmatic way).
